WSI Announced at their Excellence and Innovation Conference in Orlando that they are aiming to raise sufficient money from the WSI Network to build a new school.

“No one should go hungry in this day and age, especially children whose entire development and future potential depends on their health and nutrition. Every child deserves to have the essentials of clean water, health care and basic education. Our goal is to take the necessary steps to end child poverty – one child, one village at a time.”

The Importance Of Evolving Your Website Over Time

Recent Changes To The WSI Website

A few months ago we launched the new WSI site after weeks of hard work and countless design revisions. The feedback we’ve received from clients has been great, and this week we’ve made a few small but important tweaks. We thought some of you might find it useful for us to discuss the process we went through here on the blog.<!–more–> The two biggest changes have been made on the Home page, arguably the most important page on any website.

The first change was a redesign of the “Client Showcase” area at the top of the Home page. Originally, this was a set of tabs which allowed users to quickly navigate through our 5 most recent projects to see which clients we have done work for and what we did for them. It was very successful, and many clients have commented on how useful they found it. The majority of new visitors will be coming to our site to see how good we are, and the perfect way to demonstrate this is by putting this information in front of them immediately. The only problem was the 5 tab limit. We wanted the ability to include more items in the same amount of space and the chance to show off some of our animation capabilities – which we’ve been using on a lot of client sites recently. The result was the new content slider which you can take a look at on the home page. We now have a much more flexible area which can contain many more client profiles and looks a lot more dynamic.

The second big change was a complete re-write of the copy on the Home page. Our Search-Engine Optimisation experts have created a much more detailed overview of the services we offer, giving visitors a much better understanding and leading them easily through to the information they are looking for. The page is also far better optimised for the search keywords we want to be found on so we are expecting to see a dramatic rise in traffic coming in from Google and the other search engines.

The Importance Of Evolving Your Website Over Time

Most companies re-develop their website every two years or so and while there are genuine advantages to this kind of cycle, it doesn’t mean you should just allow your website to stagnate between major re-designs.

There are many advantages to evaluating what has and hasn’t worked on your website a few months after it has launched and evolving where appropriate:

  • The ability to keep up to date with changes in trends and best practices
  • Tweaking your content based on new information collected from Analytics and other sources
  • Updating processes based on user feedback

WSI Yorkshire Visits Google

Posted July 3rd, 2009 by John-Paul in Google, WSI Company News

As part of the developing relationship between WSI and the Search Engine giant Google, a unique collaborative event was organised last week.  The event hosted at Google’s central London office allowed representatives from both organisations to come together under one roof.

The agenda focussed around the challenges and opportunities presented by the global economic slowdown.  The worst for a generation and the first of the new digital age.  During these challenging economic times consumers are becoming more and more price conscious. Over 80% of Internet users now compare prices and options prior to making an online purchase. With Internet usage figures increasing to over 41 million individuals online this year this represents key opportunities for WSI’s clients.

At the event Google presented the very latest research findings into visitor behaviour and the impact the economic slowdown is having on all key online sectors.  This advice extended to Pay Per Click advertising, Social Media Optimisation and key technical aspects of Search Engine Optimisation including Landing Page Optimisation and the future of Link Building Activity.

In addition Google provided demonstrations of their very latest Search Optimisation tools and a rare insight into their future endeavours within the Search and Internet Marketing Arena.

We will be sharing all of these insights with our clients over the coming weeks and months to help gain the greatest potential from their online marketing campaigns.
