Growing a business without a solid marketing plan can be like building a house without a blueprint. As much as you wouldn’t set up a retail business in the middle of nowhere and expect it to flourish, you can’t expect your website to take root out there in cyberspace without some kind of internet marketing strategy. After all – what’s the use of a website without a solid return on investment (ROI)?

5 Top SEO Tips for Writing a Press Release
Posted March 15th, 2010 by John-Paul in Search Engine Optimisation
Originally, press releases were used to inform the TV and print media about new information or products. But the days of the standard, market-spun press release are pretty much over. Whilst words still certainly have their part to play, the landscape has most certainly shifted to the point where simple marketing rhetoric won’t cut it any longer. (more…)
Google Caffeine – Is It Good For You?
Posted February 23rd, 2010 by John-Paul in Search Engine Optimisation
One thing is certain when working with the World Wide Web: change. Web technology is not stationary – nor should it be. Plagiarism
It’s probably a word you haven’t heard since writing essays in school, when your instructors told you that any evidence of it could result in a failing grade. But copyright is something to be aware of when creating content for websites and social media campaigns – whether that be asking whether you are legally allowed to use a photograph, a page of text or an idea… or determining whether someone else is entitled to use content you or your clients have created.
Redirecting to Search Engine Friendly URLs
Posted February 9th, 2010 by in Search Engine Optimisation, Website Development
Static URLs are preferable to dynamic URLs that contain variables such as the page ID where search engines are concerned. It’s worth investing the time and/or money in setting up URL rewriting on your website so that www.example.com/index.php?pageID=1 can now be viewed at www.example.com/page-1.htm or even better at www.example.com/page-name.htm. The latter two URLs appear to be static HTML pages but using Apache’s mod_rewrite module and an .htaccess file you can serve the same content as the first URL. The next step is to ensure that anyone accessing the original URL is redirected to the correct new URL with a 301 HTTP status code.
